Description

The Mago is a highly asymmetric climbing shoe, specifically designed to deliver maximum precision and power on small footholds.

A dual-ply microfibre upper with complex panel construction combines with the TPU midsole, X-Tension support system and powerful lace harness to give a strong and precise support of your foot. The big toe panel also features an extra-large pocket of Alcantara - an ultra thin yet strong fabric that improves sensitivity - extending under the ball of the foot, while the high angled toe box, asymmetrical and downturned shape focuses power down on the big toe to provide optimal application of power.

An outsole of Vibram XS Grip2 rubber delivers excellent friction with enough firmness for decent edging.

UPPER

Complex upper with more elasticated panels of perforated microfibre supported with a triple layer microfibre frame. Combined with the lacing system it gives an optimal fit and powerful bracing with a smooth inner surface on the skin. The big toe panel features an extra large pocket of textured microfibre extending under the ball of the foot.

TENSION

X-Tension

The X-Tension System preserves the shoe’s shape over time. Power is concentrated on the big toe while ensuring support across the entire arch.

PAF

The PAF System is an innovative heel construction method that improves force distribution and reduces pressure on the Achilles tendon.

MIDSOLE

TPS 3D molded plastic insert with floating big toe pad for a concave profile with sensitivity. Refined heel with a Flexan heel strip to maintain heel tension and shape.

SOLE

3.5mm 1/3 length XS Grip 2 sole for excellent flexibility.

IT CAN BE RESOLED

This shoe can be resolved at one of the official SCARPA resole shops. We recommend resoling before the wear and tear is excessive to preserve performance and prolong the life of your shoe or boot. Check out the full list of authorized centers on the store locator.

PAF SYSTEM

An innovative method of heel construction that improves force distribution and reduces pressure on the achilles tendon, thanks to a softer rubber “bridge” that connects the two flaps of the tension system, promoting optimal adaptation to the shape of the foot. The number of holes on the rubber indicates the level of tension: 1 hole for low tension, 2 holes for medium tension, 3 holes for maximum tension.

TPS

Preshaped insert placed under the forefoot provides an anatomical fit at the front of the shoe. TPS improves toe support during stance on small notches, increasing engagement ability and accuracy. When spreading, the system allows the foot to spread out to increase the contact area of the shoe with the rock to provide greater grip.

X-TENSION

The system that supports the sole and anterior area of the foot by increasing the support power on the toes. The rubber wraps around the foot keeping it in place for small supports without losing sensitivity. X-Tension is specifically designed for a half-length sole units with an aggressive toe angle.

M50 Rubber

The softest rubber compound in our range, designed to provide maximum adaptability to the shape of the foot and toes. Developed in collaboration with Davos®, it has a Shore A rating of 50, offering a high wrapping ability. Its features make it particularly suitable for the SRT system, toe cap coverings, and targeted applications on the upper.

VIBRAM XS GRIP2 RUBBER

The natural evolution of the Vibram® XS GRIP compound, widely used by world-class athletes in bouldering. Featuring significantly improved grip, it offers an excellent level of compactness, ideal for working on edges and moderately inclined holds. It also ensures consistent performance in all temperatures. It is the recommended choice for applications that require the maximum level of adhesion.
