SCARPA® SL Active - Trail Magazine award 'Best In Test'
Monday 19th December 2011
This is the latest version of the multi-award-winning and quintessential 3-4 season boot, the SCARPA® SL. This new version holds true to the heritage of this boot by having a good stiff sole with an aggressive lug pattern, so you can kick the edges into the snow or crunch through scree with stability and comfort. But now you also get a rubber rand for even more durability, while new eyelets and styling give the boot a little extra appeal. Put this boot on and the comfort is noticeably better than in the past, thanks to a little more flex in the ankle cuff, a new footbed with better cushioning and the addition of memory foam. The result is all that great performance on rock, scree and snow remains but there is now buckets of extra comfort. You don’t get a waterproof lining, so you are going to have to make sure the upper is cared for properly to guarantee dry feet. Sadly there is no women’s version of this boot, so the standard SCARPA® SL rather than the Activ version will remain the best option for women or men with narrow heels.
The Low-down:
The new Activ Fit makeover of the SCARPA® classic makes the SL Active more comfortable than ever before, while maintaining its core performance values.
