THIS HIGH-ALTITUDE DOUBLE BOOT WITH INTEGRAL GAITER IS ONE OF THE LIGHTEST OF ITS KIND. This model was designed for use in the high Himalayas, but works well for any technical and intensely cold endeavours, from Mt. McKinley to the Polar Regions. It should be an essential item for every high altitude expedition. Thanks to its compact design, asymmetric construction, combination of advanced materials, and rigorous attention to its construction, it is extremely comfortable in use and insulates against even the lowest temperatures. At the same time it’s capable of high performance on the most technical faces. Three key features define the Phantom: the integral gaiter, the outer hull, and the removable and thermo-formable inner boot. The gaiter isn’t just window-dressing: made from Dynatec, a waterproof membrane, and the completely watertight T-Zip®, it will keep the weather out but let you in, even with big gloved hands. The anti-abrasion internal side reinforcements will protect them from crampon scuffs; the heat-retaining inner sole adds warmth; and the new Jorasses GSb Vibram® sole unit, is even lighter with improved insulation, accepts semi-automatic and GSb crampons with ease. The outer hull of the boot is made of Cordura® combined with an extra insulating layer of EVA with a closure feature that’s quick-fastening with a doublelocking system.
