I began climbing aged 11 at a local club in Birmingham. After being totally hooked for a few years I ended up taking a break. Fast-forward 10 years and I found myself at Sheffield Uni, psyched to push my climbing and unexpectedly, was selected for the British Bouldering Team in 2009.

Since then I have spent a couple of years on the competition circuit. My best results have been coming 5th in both the British Bouldering and Leading Championships in 2010 and coming 23rd in a Sheffield World Cup event.

Having really enjoyed the competition side of climbing, I have recently gone for a change of direction by choosing not to re-try for the British team. My real focus now has become sport climbing. I seem to be addicted to the flow of sport climbing and the challenge of having to give it everything to succeed.

My future goals are all just focussed around enjoying climbing as much as possible. I can definitely see myself competing in the future but currently, with less competition commitments, I’ve had much more opportunity to get outside and am hoping to push my grades in routes and bouldering both in the UK and abroad.
