At 22 Will is maybe the most experienced alpinist of his age in the country. Over the last few years, while being based in Chamonix, he has racked up an impressive list of ascents in the European Alps all following a light and fast alpine style. Taking a particular interest in big North Faces he has climbed over 20 Grandes Courses including hard test pieces such as No Siesta on the Grandes Jorasses. Not content with just proving himself as a strong technical climber Will has shown his fitness by climbing some of the most famous alpine routes around in very fast times. Trips further abroad to Patagonia and Alaska have resulted in the first British ascent of Cerro Piergirgio and single pushing the Cassin ridge on Denali in under 15 hours, proving his ability to not only climb hard but also fast at altitude. Deep down though, Will is a Cumbrian lad through and through and enjoys shovelling muck at his local farm, and a relaxed session on his local boulders in St Bees as much as the suffering that awaits him in the mountains.
