Tell us about your successes so far?

I have had a few standout results over my years as a junior and more recently senior racing:

  • European Mountain Running Championships, 3 podiums
  • English Championships wins at Newlands and Lad’s Leap
  • Grisedale Horseshoe ‘2nd Male’ and new record

Despite the above results I am most proud of beating Finlay Grant at Grasmere Sports in 2018 as an under 15. I also compete in fell running alongside triathlon with several World and European performances in senior categories and am most proud of balancing this all alongside studying at university in Leeds.

What are you working on? What are your goals for the future?

My goals are to compete on the European circuit at Sky Running races, European and World championship senior teams and hopefully some of the Golden Trail Series.

For the future I hope to continue balancing both sports to the highest level possible and to travel as much as I can. I would like to continue International competitions to meet more Scarpa athletes and race internationally as a team.

Why do you run? What do you love about trail running?

Running is fun. I have always enjoyed it and always will! It gets you so many different places you could never reach any other way, see things you would not have seen and meet people from so many backgrounds and abilities.

Which Scarpa shoe is your favourite?

Spin STs: the most incredible grip for the most British of conditions. I have never had a pair of shoes with the same level of studs and being able to run with the level of confidence has aided many training sessions and competitions.

Golden Gate 2: an amazing shoe from road to trail, especially within a more urban city to trails it has provided amazing cushioning and support.

Tell us about your best day running

Sunset run up Blencathra for New Years Eve. I was with my family for my mum’s birthday and the ground was perfectly crisp and snowy. The sun set just on the summit and we sledged back down to camp in the van.

What do you do away from your sport?

Alongside triathlon and running I am currently studying Biomedical Science at university, hopefully graduating this year. I would like to get back into climbing this year at the local bouldering centre alongside more baking for snacks on the hills.

Where is your #NoPlacetooFar?

The Alps, Dolomites, Pyrenees, Rocky’s. If it’s hilly, I want to go there.
