Name: Sanna Duthie
Hometown: Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire
Sport: Running
I completed my 1st marathon in 2013, it was a road marathon. In 2015 I was introduced to trail running and I was hooked. I've always loved the coastline I've lived on since I was a child.
So being able to run big sections of it and explore is what drives me. There was so many beautiful trails to run on. I love to run down long down hills really fast, or running in a storm.
My favourite distance to run is 100 miles or anything that takes over 20 hours!
Ultra running is what I live for. Being out on the trails day and night excites me. I work an office job Monday to Friday. So the adventure ultra running brings me really does help keep me motivated.
I love a challenge and pushing myself out of my comfort zone. As well as doing my own events I enjoy helping out too. I hold a women’s only trail run every month to help others get confidence and enjoy the trails.

What are you working on? What are your goals for the future?
I have entered the Arc of attrition 100 miles and UTS 100 miles. Both these races scare me as they are tough.

Why do you run? What do you love about running?
Running my freedom. It has given me purpose when I wanted to give up. It has given me friendships and I have got to meet some amazing people.
The trails take no prisoners. You have to work hard. In the summer the views are the trails flow. In the winter you have to dig deep.

Which SCARPA shoe is your favourite?
For the muddy trails and mountains I love the Ribelle Run 2. I can run down hill super fast and I can trust the shoe.
In the summer I use the Golden Gate 2 ATR. They are comfy and the socks around the shoe help stop debris getting in.

Tell us about your best day running?
The summer of 2025 when I completed a new record of running the whole of the Pembrokeshire coast path.
I was supported by friends, my dad and partner. At the end I had my spaniels to great me. It was the run of my life.

What do you do away from your sport?
I work an office job.
I also have 3 dogs, 3 guinea pigs and a hamster to look after. The dog walks are my warm up and cool down for runs. Often my partner meets me at a beach with the dogs after my long run.
I also love to bake!

I would love to run the whole of the Welsh coast path. 20 odd days with the sea by my side would be a dream.
