I became completely obsessed with climbing when I was about 11, and it has been getting me out of bed every day since then! I’d describe myself as a rock climber who gets lured into bigger and bigger adventures which ultimately involve ice, altitude, cold, big trips away, lots of soul searching and surreal situations.

I currently work as a Mountain Guide in the French Alps which I see as a way to be able to earn money and live in the greatest playground on earth - the Mont Blanc Massif. I regularly travel to Patagonia, Alaska, the Rockies, and Pakistan in search of big climbing experiences in interesting places.

Aims for the future are: To keep going away to amazing places for climbing. Inspire others to climb, ski and interact with mountains/wild places. Keep discovering new places in my alpine backyard. Get stronger, better, and all that boring stuff….

-Hometown-

St.Bees Cumbria. Now living in Chamonix France.

-Projects-

All disciplines of climbing! but people know me for cold alpine stuff and exploratory first ascents. I also ski a lot, fish when I’m next to the sea, and listen to blues music!

-Successes-

In the region of 40 “Grande Course” style routes in the Alps, including early repeats and first British ascents of some of the biggest modern routes in the Mont Blanc Massif. | Fastest ever ascent of the South face of Denali - the Cassin Ridge in under 15 hours. | The first ascent of the NW face of Mount Deborah, Hayes range Alaska. | First ascent of “Beastiality”, on the Beartooth, Alaska. | First repeat of the “House-Anderson” on the north face of Mount Alberta, Canadian Rockies. |Onsighted 7c+ and redpointed 8b sport climbs.

-Favourite Scarpa-

Phantom 6000’s - the lightest warm boot in the world!

-No Place too Far-

Pakistan. Since my last expedition there in 2012 i’ve been dying to go back! its the forbidden fruit of the mountain world.
