Ed Brewer grew up spending his holidays in the mountains. Hiking, climbing, mountaineering and ski touring all became part of the same passion: exploring the mountains, testing his limits, and finding freedom in rugged technical terrain. At 2am on his 13th birthday he completed his first Welsh 3000s round, and ever since he’s been drawn to bigger, faster and more ambitious mountain challenges.
Since then, Ed has grown into a versatile mountain runner, drawn to technical sky races, classic endurance rounds, and big days in beautiful mountains. He loves the process of pushing his limits and improving, but also just the simplicity of being in the mountains, moving through wild terrain, sharing big days with friends, and chasing adventure.
Away from racing, Ed’s interests extend across the wider alpine world, from ski touring and mountaineering, to paragliding and climbing. A Cambridge engineering graduate, he now works as a structural engineer on renewable energy projects, combining his love of problem-solving with a role in the energy transition.
