Description

The first incarnation of SCARPA’s Origin VS was a new standard-setter: a competitively priced shoe that combined the comfort of an entry-level model with the performance and materials of high-end designs. This latest iteration doubles down on that ethos, delivering a truly remarkable climbing shoe- levelling up on all fronts.

Built in Europe’s shoemaking heartland and shaped on a comfort-oriented last, the Origin VS offers a relaxed, neutral fit with minimal pressure points on both heels and toes. To better accommodate modern fit preferences, this edition introduces a slightly wider toe box than its predecessor and is also available in EU half sizes. The upper is crafted from the premium dual-ply microfibre used in the Instinct series, offering immediate comfort and controlled stretch.

The shoe is also equipped with an S72 rubber outsole—arguably the stickiest compound on the market—and an M50 toe patch, the same upper rubber used in SCARPA’s high-performance models, for unrivalled grip. The toe patch has been refined to be more supple and stretchy, delivering out-of-the-box comfort and elevated performance levels, while the single competition-style Velcro strap and high-stretch gusset ensure easy entry and a secure, wraparound fit.

No matter if you’re dancing across a gritstone slab, pogoing between macros, or toe-hooking a meaty volume, the Origin VS performs move after move.

M50 Rubber

The softest rubber compound in our range, designed to provide maximum adaptability to the shape of the foot and toes. Developed in collaboration with Davos®, it has a Shore A rating of 50, offering a high wrapping ability. Its features make it particularly suitable for the SRT system, toe cap coverings, and targeted applications on the upper.

S72 Rubber

A high-adhesion rubber compound, developed and tested by SCARPA in collaboration with Davos®. With a hardness of 72 Shore A, it combines softness and adaptability across a wide range of surfaces, while ensuring excellent mechanical performance. Its versatility makes it effective on both plastic and rock.
