Ski - USA/Engalnd

Tom Grant

Born just outside Washington DC and raised in England, Tom discovered skiing on a school trip to Austria and hasn’t really slowed down since. A move to Chamonix to pursue alpine climbing and steep skiing soon became a permanent one, and he now calls the Mont Blanc massif home.

Tom is an IFMGA Mountain Guide and runs Tom Grant Guiding, specialising in guiding and coaching technical ski descents and alpine climbs.

Although he’s best known for steep skiing, Tom has always seen himself as an all-round mountain athlete. From freeride skiing and ski mountaineering to technical alpinism and rock climbing, he enjoys the variety that comes with moving through the mountains. Constantly striving to improve and refine his own skills, while stepping beyond his comfort zone in search of adventure, has always been a huge motivation. He has built his career around combining that personal pursuit with guiding—helping clients develop the skills, confidence and judgement to push their own boundaries.

That pursuit has taken him from the big walls of Yosemite to remote mountain ranges across Alaska, Baffin Island, Canada, Norway, New Zealand, Pakistan and the Alps, where he has completed numerous first ski descents and challenging alpine routes.
