Chimera
Incorporating numerous examples of boundary pushing design methods pioneered by SCARPA, the Chimera embodies cutting edge climbing shoe construction utilising state of the art materials.
This fine-tuned model features a handcrafted multi-panel upper (at 8 the highest in the range), rubber-wrapped forefoot, downturned profile and asymmetrical shape with offset lace closure. The Chimera strikes an immaculate balance between power and sensitivity: its PCB (Power Connection Band) active rand connects the SRT (Surround Rand Tension) forefoot with the PAF heel system, allowing the the climber to grab with their feet on steep overhangs, while the moulded TPS midsole, featuring a floating big toe, provides edging power, reactivity and underfoot support when you transition into more vertical terrain and smaller footholds.
The combination of the SRT toe-wrap and strategically placed asymmetric lacing system allow for unprecedented toe hooking in a lace model, while also providing a high range of adjustability for a variety of climber’s foot shapes and volumes.
The Chimera is a perfect choice for climbs that feature a variety of angles - both indoors and out - and where the climber needs a knife-edge balance between support and sensitivity.
