Description

Built on the same iconic last as Instinct VS Womens, the Instinct Lace Women’s provides a similar base fit. That said, the constructional variances, such as the TPU outer cage and extended Ilga randing - which provides extra compression to the toe box - combine to provide a marginally more precise toe point and overall stiffer/supportive feel to the forefoot.

As well as the additional support, the TPU (Thermo PolyUrethane) cage prevents torsional movement and roll during extreme edging, making this a brilliant performer on front-on sequences of any angle, where high levels of force are driven through small footholds.

From toe to heel, this model comes armed with an Vibram XS Grip2 outsole, perfect for lighter framed climbers or those seeking a lace model with a softer outsole compound. The Instinct Lace Womens also makes use of our PAF heel system, which provides improved comfort (by dispersing pressure) and also marginal heel hooking gains, with the sticky rubber rising higher up the achilles.

Multi-panel upper (5) for the best custom moulding fit. PU cage on a seamless microfibre panel minimizes stretch and spreads the pressure of the lacing system across the upper.

TENSION

The PAF System is an innovative heel construction method that improves force distribution and reduces pressure on the Achilles tendon.

Bi-Tension

The Bi-Tension System extends from the toe to the arch, providing high flexibility with optimal tension.

MIDSOLE

Half-length Flexan 1.0mm insert spreads the force in the forefoot and allows for excellent flexibility in the rear of the shoe.

3.5mm 2/3 length XS Edge sole with a hand-constructed 2mm XS Grip 2 heel.

IT CAN BE RESOLED

This shoe can be resolved at one of the official SCARPA resole shops. We recommend resoling before the wear and tear is excessive to preserve performance and prolong the life of your shoe or boot. Check out the full list of authorized centers on the store locator.

BI-TENSION

Thanks to the rubber that wraps around the foot along both sides of the shoe, it provides support without compromising sensitivity. This system is a perfect fit for slightly asymmetrical models, as it extends from the toes to the heel, leaving the middle part free for more sensitivity.

PAF SYSTEM

An innovative method of heel construction that improves force distribution and reduces pressure on the achilles tendon, thanks to a softer rubber “bridge” that connects the two flaps of the tension system, promoting optimal adaptation to the shape of the foot. The number of holes on the rubber indicates the level of tension: 1 hole for low tension, 2 holes for medium tension, 3 holes for maximum tension.
