Description

SCARPA’s Furia Air fuses unrivalled sensitivity and responsiveness with performance-driven comfort. Its world-class design, materials, and construction deliver barefoot-like adaptability paired with the focused control of a climbing shoe.

Its soft, adaptable construction prioritises direct feedback, letting climbers read tiny holds and subtle features with absolute precision. Reduced rigidity creates a responsive, technical feel while maintaining comfort—even with a close fit. The laminate microfibre upper delivers a glove-like fit, while an Alcantara insert at the big toe enhances fineness by bringing the foot closer to the climbing surface, for exceptional feel on even the smallest footholds.

This iteration employs the widely acclaimed FZR last—proven in the Drago XT—to provide a deeper, more secure fit. Stability is further enhanced by a re-engineered, reinforced V-strap closure that locks in compression without restricting natural movement. The Differentiated Tension System (DTS) channels power precisely where it’s needed, maintaining the shoe’s aggressive downturned profile while preserving mid-foot freedom. At the front, M50 rubber forms the SRT (Surround Rubber Tension) toe hood, which melds with the DTS, delivering outstanding performance on toe hooks and foot cams.

A 3mm Vibram® XS Grip2 outsole ensures top-tier friction and responsiveness across all angles.

Multi-panel upper (7) with seamless big toe panel and offset four toe stitch for the best custom moulding fit. Wave strap system spreads the pressure across the upper and grants large volume adjustment. A high-stretch gusset allows easy entry.

LACING

The redesigned V-strap closure features a stronger and more durable Velcro system, while maintaining lightness.

TENSION

DTS+SRT+PAF

The differentiated tensioning system between the inside and outside of the foot, DTS (Differentiated Tension System), adapts perfectly to the foot’s dynamic movements, focusing power on the big toe. The DTS tensioning works in combination with the new minimized SRT system and the PAF heel system, providing highly elastic dynamic tension. These tensioning systems also help preserve the shoe’s original shape over time.

The SRT system ensures perfect toe hooks thanks to the use of M50 rubber.

MIDSOLE

Minimal Flexan 1.0mm midsole insert with a floating big toe pad for ultimate sensitivity.

3mm 1/3 length XS Grip 2 sole with a handcrafted 2mm XS Grip 2 heel.

IT CAN BE RESOLED

This shoe can be resolved at one of the official SCARPA resole shops. We recommend resoling before the wear and tear is excessive to preserve performance and prolong the life of your shoe or boot. Check out the full list of authorized centers on the store locator.

DTS - TENSION

The system that adapts perfectly to the dynamics of the foot in movement. This allows force to be concentrated toward the big toe area, without interfering with the fit, and helps keep the foot in optimal position, supporting the effective distribution of power and precision.

PAF SYSTEM

An innovative method of heel construction that improves force distribution and reduces pressure on the achilles tendon, thanks to a softer rubber “bridge” that connects the two flaps of the tension system, promoting optimal adaptation to the shape of the foot. The number of holes on the rubber indicates the level of tension: 1 hole for low tension, 2 holes for medium tension, 3 holes for maximum tension.

SRT SURROUND RUBBER TENSION

The system that represents the key technology of the Soft Line models: Chimera, Drago and Furia S. It is an extremely soft M50 rubber layer that completely wraps around the forefoot, providing maximum foot sensitivity and grip for every toe hook. Using soft shoes like these means improving one's climbing style by naturally increasing power to the tips of the toes. SRT allows the foot to spread out on any spot on the wall, offering total freedom that facilitates faster and more dynamic movements, both on rock and artificial walls.

M50 Rubber

The softest rubber compound in our range, designed to provide maximum adaptability to the shape of the foot and toes. Developed in collaboration with Davos®, it has a Shore A rating of 50, offering a high wrapping ability. Its features make it particularly suitable for the SRT system, toe cap coverings, and targeted applications on the upper.

VIBRAM XS GRIP2 RUBBER

The natural evolution of the Vibram® XS GRIP compound, widely used by world-class athletes in bouldering. Featuring significantly improved grip, it offers an excellent level of compactness, ideal for working on edges and moderately inclined holds. It also ensures consistent performance in all temperatures. It is the recommended choice for applications that require the maximum level of adhesion.
