Climbing - England

Angus Kille

Angus Kille is a climber, instructor and mental training coach based in North Wales, best known for his commitment to bold, traditional climbing. Over decades exploring every facet of the sport — from hard trad to bouldering to big walling — he has built a reputation for the technical skill, judgement and composure that hard trad demands.

Among his achievements are E7 onsights, an ascent of Meltdown (8c+/9a), one of the hardest slabs in the country, and a rare ascent of Indian Face Clogwyn Du'r Arddu. Further afield, he has made free ascents of El Capitan — a wall he knows he'll always return to — alongside countless trad and sport trips around the world.

He cut his teeth on Nesscliffe's hard trad lines before North Wales pulled him in for good, and he's been based there ever since, splitting his time between his own climbing and coaching others through Strong Mind Climbing, which he co-runs with Hazel Findlay. For Angus, climbing has always been both work and play, and he remains motivated by the belief that it's a lifelong journey of learning and mastery.

SCARPA represents both innovation and reliability for Angus: cutting-edge shoes that don't let you down when it matters. His go-to model is the Instinct VS, which gives him precision, good edges and heel-hooking power he can rely on, whatever the terrain.
