Climbing - Wales

Rhoslyn Frugtniet

A whole life is fuelled by a genuine, lifelong love for climbing. Growing up in South Wales my weekends were spent sampling the coastal sport routes on the Gower Peninsula, while weekends were entirely dedicated to the competition circuit.

Twenty years later, not a whole lot has changed—except I’ve swapped the coast for Sheffield, trading Welsh rock for Yorkshire limestone and Peak District grit.I spent my early twenties traveling the globe to sample world-class venues across South Africa, the States, and Asia, while also competing around Europe as part of the GB Team.

But as much as I loved the thrill of competing and the way it tested me, my heart always belonged to outdoor climbing. Now, I love every single aspect of climbing. Whether it's scary trad, hard boulders, or sport climbing, I like to constantly mix it up. For me, they all feed into each other—lessons learned on a bold trad line help on a steep sport project!
