Will Birkett

Born and raised in the English Lake district Will Birkett spearheaded a form of fast and light alpinism involving solo climbing and ultra running to create and break FKTs of classic rounds across the UK.

The Birkett family has been at the for front of traditional climbing for 4 generations, Will has taken the name to new heights with bold first accents across the British isles including places such as St Kilda, Skye and Minglay.

Will burst into the mainstream during the 2020 pandemic. Breaking the Lakes classic rock FKT 3 times in the same year as he battled for the fastest time against Wide Boy Tom Randle.

Since then, Will has completed the Welsh Classic Rock Round, a route of 60 miles of running and over 2000m of solo climbing all within in 24hrs, he is the only person ever to have completed this round. Will has completed running rounds such as the Bob Graham, climbed cutting edge trad lines, onsite 7c+ on sport and bouldered multiple font 8As.  What sets Will apart is his relentless drive and ability to combine disciplines into a single event.
